I believe art heals.

Hi, I’m Jane

From Project Schedules & Spreadsheets to Paintbrushes

After decades managing teams and projects in the corporate and federal government world, I finally gave myself permission to do what I'd been dreaming about for years… make art full-time.

I'm Jane Bell Lassiter: abstract artist, workshop instructor, creativity coach, writer, and recovering project manager. I traded conference rooms for my studio, where I create work that celebrates color, texture, and storytelling… spanning abstract art, mixed media, printmaking with hand carved stamps, and assemblage full of intention, whimsy, and the occasional outrage.

My journey wasn't a straight line. It included years as an Army brat wandering museums across the U.S. and Europe, a detour through Chicago's Art Institute during lunch breaks and weekends and eventually landing in leadership roles where I helped shape complex initiatives for organizations that mattered. It was meaningful work, but somewhere along the way I realized I'd been performing a version of myself that fit the executive conference room and I was ready to create from a place that felt fully, authentically mine.

That shift deepened during a long caregiving journey with my mom, whose own late-life art (now my upcoming "Katie's Kreations" line) reminded me that it's never too late to honor the creative voice inside.

Now I paint what makes me happy, coach and teach workshops that help others tap into their creative spark, and champion the idea that everyone has an inner artist waiting to be discovered. At my workshops, you will also hear me repeat my personal mantra (sometimes like a broken record).

My mission: Make the world more colorful, one brushstroke and one workshop participant at a time — because creativity matters more than we think.

My stretch goal: To one day see my abstract artwork in TV shows & films.

When I'm not in the studio, you'll find me hanging out with my hubby, traveling, reading, and wearing colorful clogs with mismatched socks, because life is too short not to have fun.

Welcome to Jane Bell Studio. I'm so glad you're here.

Please enjoy…
